Help plan the International Hemingway Society's 2016 conference! This event, scheduled for July 18-22 in Oak Park, IL offers the chance to help stage and execute a 350-person scholarly conference with multiple sites, daily and evening events, and receptions. Drawing Hemingway aficionados from all over the world, this event will be a highly publicized opportunity to learn valuable management and event planning skills.
The Ernest Hemingway Foundation of Oak Park seeks an intern to assist the conference planning committee with the following tasks:
Researching locations
Contacting caterers
Tracking registration and budgets
Arranging conference calls
Posting flyers
Attending committee meetings and writing reports
Approx 10 hours per week, increasing as conference nears

This mission reflects the Foundation's belief in the importance of the written word and the value of thoughtful reading and writing.
Description
The Hemingway Foundation operates the Hemingway Birthplace Home in Oak Park, Ill. Tours are provided Wednesday through Sunday. We also sponsor cultural and educational programming throughout the year, including book lectures and writing workshops, Hemingway's Birthday Celebration, and other special events.
