Join us as a volunteer for our Summer Solstice Success Celebration! This year we will be celebrating the health care successes of currently and formerly homeless New Yorkers. We will also be honoring the winner of our "Story of Success" writing competition. Although our main focus will be celebration, the event is also an advocacy effort to raise public consciousness and work for better policies to fight, prevent and end homelessness.
Volunteers are needed to help with set up, registration and greeting of attendees, serving food, and cleaning up afterwards. We are also looking for someone with photography skills to document this exciting event!
Care for the Homeless is a non-profit organization that operates 30 medical clinics in partnership with shelters, soup kitchens, and drop in locations throughout the city. We also operate a 200-bed, transitional residence for homeless women in the Bronx called Susan's Place.

Mission Statement
Care For the Homeless fights homelessness by delivering high-quality and client-centered health care, human services and shelter to homeless individuals and families, and by advocating for policies to ameliorate, prevent and end homelessness.
Description
Care For the Homeless (CFH) serves 10,000 homeless men, women, and children annually and provides comprehensive health care at multiple sites co-located at soup kitchens, shelters, drop-in centers and street outreach programs in all 5 boroughs of NYC. Our service delivery model provides care where homeless individuals and families are receiving a variety of other services with the goal of reducing barriers to accessing high-quality health care. CFH also operates three transitional housing sites with on-site health care and is expanding shelter services in the future, ensuring a safe, supportive path to permanent housing.
In addition, CFH is committed to ending homelessness by conducting public education, research, and analysis of model programs and practices that create permanent housing opportunities, and by shaping policies to prevent future homelessness.
