Mission Statement
On Sunday, June 14, 2015 more than 1,000 people will come together to Stop Diabetes at the American Diabetes Association’s Kennebunks Tour de Cure . This bicycle ride raises funds that will assist the American Diabetes Association in achieving its mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
Diabetes affects more than 29 million people in the United States, and nearly 110,000 adults in Maine are diagnosed with this disease. Diabetes also costs our state more than $4 billion each year in medical care and lost productivity and as more Americans become at risk for developing diabetes, these costs will continue to grow.
Description
The Kennebunks Tour de Cure offers 5 different routes for cyclists of all abilities to ride. In order to make sure the event runs smoothly, we rely on 300+ volunteers working various tasks on and off the event site. This event brings together many people acting towards a united goal.
