About Homeless Garden Project: We are a Transitional Employment Program for those experiencing homelessness. In a year program trainees gain work experience and attend trainings to transition into employment at the end of that year. We currently have 15 trainees at one time, but our 5 year plan is to accomade 45 trainees on a 9 acre farm. In order for this to happen we need to raise money at our summer fundraisers, and we need a passionate Marketing Intern to help us!
Job Description: The Marketing Intern will assist the Promotion Team in outreach, calling, posting information on our summer fundraisers and and generally executing the promotion plan. We have three summer fundraisers, two Farm Dinners with 150 people at each, and a bike race called the Swanton Loop Challenge. The Marketing Intern will work under the Marketing and Promotions Manager to schedule and execute promotions and projects for each of these fundraisers.. The Marketing Intern may be asked to attend Event Committee meetings and Promotion meetings.
Hours: 4-6 hours/week (will vary depending on proximity of events)
When: May - October
Weekly Schedule: To be scheduled Suzanne Marketing and Promotions Manager
Skills: Reliable and independent. Ability to work independently. Knowledge in marketing basics, some experience with promotion desireable. Passion for the cause a plus.

The Santa Cruz Homeless Garden Project helps men and women gain skills and confidence to enter wider communities. We provide training and transitional employment within a community-supported organic garden. Volunteers have many opportunities to learn about and help in the garden, in the kitchen, and with special events.
Description
The Homeless Garden Project (HGP) provides paid job training, transitional employment, and support services to people experiencing homelessness. In complement, the Project operates a community education and volunteer program that serves over 2,500 people annually. The programs take place at our 3.5-acre organic farm and related enterprises. Volunteers have many opportunities to learn about and help in the garden, in the kitchen, and with special events.
