Canteen Team - Canteen volunteers provide snacks and drinks to the emergency workers and people affected by a disaster. Examples of circumstances when this opportunity may be requested are during a multi-family fire or evacuation, during an emergency response where the Fire Department, EMS, or police are required to be on site for several hours or possibly to serve workers during a search and rescue mission.
Disaster Education Team Member - Community Education volunteers work one-on-one with individuals and groups to teach the importance of being prepared to reduce injury, loss of life and loss of property. In a classroom setting, volunteers present the message--Make a Plan. Build a Kit. Be Prepared. -- These volunteers have the opportunity to work with schools, community groups, agencies, businesses, and faith-based organizations
