Please join Save the Sound for a day of restoration and celebration as we rebuild an acre of Sunken Meadow State Park with a marsh planting event! Come, bring your friends, and help us restore this wonderful area back to a strong and healthy environment!
Marshes play a huge role in the health of our water and habitats, including recharging groundwater supplies, moderating streamflow, reducing damage caused by floods, and trapping sediments and other pollutants.
As a volunteer, you will work to plant shrubs native to Long Island that will provide all the amazing benefits mentioned above.
All are welcome!!
Free snacks and water will be provided for volunteers.
