Do you like helping out at, planning, or organizing events? We may have a great opportunity for you!

The mission of Literacy Advance of Houston is to transform lives and communities through the doorway of literacy. To support that mission and to raise both awareness and funds, one of our most popular and uproarious events is back, and we need volunteer help!

SCRABBLE in the City is a fun and irreverent take on a SCRABBLE tournament! It takes place at Saint Arnold's Brewery the evening of May 28. Beloved community advocates Lara Bell and Roseann Rogers will co-emcee the event while guests drink, eat, dance, and keep score in two rounds of exciting and one-of-a-kind SCRABBLE contests.

Event volunteers don't need any prior experience and can decide how involved they want to be and for how long - our opportunities are very flexible. Volunteers are appreciated before, during, and shortly after the event, and involvement can range from helping organize, set up, and break down materials and decorations to greeting players, manning the information table, to assisting judges and scorekeepers. Tell us what you would like to do, and we will do our best to find a role that best suits you.

Would you like to find out more and see what all the buzz is about? Please get in touch!
