Heartchase is loads of fun... With a purpose!
It's the American Heart Associations mini-fun version of the Amazing Race!

HeartChase is a good-cause community adventure game. It’s a fun and frenzied pursuit of hidden rewards and healthy lives. And best of all, it’s a chance to help our community and the AHA chase away heart disease for good. Teams of 2-5 people will compete against other teams in a chase through the community. Each team will face 10 checkpoint challenges and locate hidden donations all while tracking progress in the HeartChase Mobile Game App. The team with the most points at the end of the clock wins! But HeartChase doesn’t start (or end) there...
We need EVENT DAY VOLUNTEERS as:
1) Registration team
2) Greeters
3) Photographer
4) Videographer
5) Tribute wall assistants
6) Route Marshalls
7) Check point assistants
8) Hydration station assistants
9) Finish line assistants/cheerers
10) set up team
11) pack up / clean up team
We also need individuals to help plan and promote this event by joining the Johnston HeartChase PLANNING COMMITTEE. If you are interested, take note that you will be attending our 2 meetings in April and May, and a few conference calls.

Description
The American Heart Association is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is: "Building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke."
The mission statement was updated by the American Heart Association during its Annual Meeting in April 2007. The mission statement undergoes a formal review process every third year.
The association's impact goal is to reduce coronary heart disease, stroke and risk by 25 percent by 2010. Progress toward the goal will be measured according to these indicators:
- Reduce the death rate from coronary heart disease and stroke by 25 percent.
- Reduce the prevalence of smoking, high blood cholesterol and physical inactivity by 25 percent.
- Reduce the rate of uncontrolled high blood pressure by 25 percent.
- Eliminate the growth of obesity and diabetes.
