GKF is seeking a dynamic Fundraising Committee Chairperson to create and implement a plan to effectively reach the financial milestones necessary to launch and maintain GKF's STEM programs in local public schools. The candidate will be self-motivated, professional and have a proven track record of fundraising achievements, ideally in the non-profit sector. As GKF's contact person for local businesses, sponsors and donors, the Fundraising Chair will serve as an ambassador of the organization and should be willing to enthusiastically serve in that capacity. Additional job duties and requirements are outlined below.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Responsible for GKF fundraising strategy, execution and evaluation of campaigns. Must have high energy and commitment to the foundation.
  • Candidate must be self-motivated, business minded, leadership oriented and have an ability to achieve personal and professional goals
  • Ability to take ownership of a program, utilizing innovation and creativity to advance and improve productivity
  • Assure that the vision and strategic direction for the GKF events are in alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Supports in developing, monitoring, an annual working plan with dollar and volunteer recruitment goals, budget and timelines for the events. Develop contingency plans, as needed to successfully complete fundraising activities.
  • Secures sponsorships, individual donations and auction items.
  • Develop profiles on the top businesses within the area with a documented plan to secure their involvement. Completes company goal setting worksheets and prioritizes companies by their potential.
  • Develop relationship-building strategies to include making personal visits on a monthly and quarterly basis. Develop effective working relationship with high level-executives and individual donors.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred.
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience in fundraising, outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity.
  • Knowledge of community organization, sales, fundraising, and marketing principles, practices, techniques, and trends.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including large and small group presentations, group facilitation, and training. Skill in written communications to include clear and concise narrative reports, evaluations and similar narrative pieces.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and analyze number goals, as well as fundraising reports. Skill in use of spreadsheet/database analysis.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office - word processing, email, presentations, and spreadsheets.
