Are you a behavioral health therapist with two hours a month you could volunteer to a great orgaization?

Washington Autism Alliance and Advocacy is a statewide advocacy organization committed to helping children and adults on the autism spectrum thrive. We recognize that being a parent is a fulltime job, not to mention being a parent of a child with high needs. We believe it is so beneficial for parents of children with autism to have opportunity to come together in a positive and supportive environment to just be.

WAAA offers a monthly parent support group in Redmond and we are currently in need of a new facilitator.

Position: Supporting Parents of Autism (SPA) Group Facilitator

Description: Washington Autism Alliance and Advocacy is looking for a mental health therapist to facilitate our Supporting Parents of Autism (SPA) Group. This group is for parents with children on the autism spectrum. We would love someone who has experience and an interest in providing healing and loss and grief support to individuals and groups. Any experience with autism is a plus. SPA is a time for parents to come together in community, friendship, and solidarity. The group is typically free flowing and includes time for discussion and a relaxation activity (like zen drawings, coloring). The group meets the first Monday of each month from 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. in Redmond.
