Know how to do face painting? The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History is looking for a couple of people to donate their time and talent of face painting for our upcoming family friendly event, Railroad Rendezvous on Saturday, July 18 th. Hours that help is needed are: 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Mission Statement
The mission of The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History is to collect, preserve, and interpret artifacts relating to the role of locomotives in the history of the South. Civil War railroad history, featuring the Great Locomotive Chase and the Civil War locomotive the General, and the manufacture and operation of locomotives during the post Civil War industrialization of the South, will be highlighted through the presentation of exhibits, educational programs relating to the Civil War, the Glover Steam Locomotive Collection, modern railroads, and railroading in the South.
Description
The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History is located in Kennesaw, Georgia, 22 miles north of downtown Atlanta. The Southern Museum is part of the Smithsonian Affiliations Program and includes Civil War and railroad exhibitions, an early 20th century locomotive factory, a library/archive, and the Jolley Education Center.
