North Texas Motorcycle Challenge
Competitors on a closed course.

The Competitor Stager will provide general staff support to the North Texas Motorcycle Challenge planning committee, ensuring that the course remains secure, safe and fun for competitors.

The Competitor Stager will be assigned to the start box and make sure riders are ready and in order for their run. It is imperative that the competition keeps moving with no gaps in time. Stagers will be responsible for riders being in line, ready to compete. The Competitor Stager will manage the rider queue by a master list. If a rider is not ready at the appropriate time, the head judge can approve moving to the next rider, ensuring all line judges and the announcer are aware of the change. The objective is to keep the competition moving with little down time (10-20 seconds) between riders.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Reference the competitor master line up and inform riders of "next in line" ensuring the start box always has the next competitor ready to begin
  • Interact with competitors in a professional manner, notifying event staff of changes to the line up
  • Monitor the course for other riders and only "start" a rider once the Lead Course Judge clears the course
  • Know the safety perimeters established and display knowledge of safety requirements
  • Show appropriate sense of urgency when potential risks are identified and remediate or report to Event Staff
  • The Competitor Stager must attend an onsite 30 minute training at the beginning of each shift.

  • Teamwork || Interacts with people effectively and willing to share and receive information.
  • Motivation || Displays energy and enthusiasm
  • Reliability || Takes responsibility for performance and commitments
  • Problem Solving || Identifies problems and comes up with appropriate solutions
  • Adaptability || Able to effectively deal with changes and priorities

Description

The purpose of this non-profit corporation is to:

  • promote the benefits of motorcycle rider training;
  • promote opportunities for riders to receive skills training;
  • raise awareness for motorcycle safety with riders and non-riders;
  • strengthen the relationship between police motor officers and civilian riders; and

To raise public awareness and to be involved with our communities, our members host and participate in skill building sessions.
