If you enjoy working with babies and young children, then you may be interested in this opportunity! The volunteer child care position will offer support to Casa de Amparo's New Directions program by providing daycare services to the parenting participants while they participate in monthly resource groups. The children will experience many enriching and rewarding activities and will flourish under our care.

New Directions is a transitional housing program for current and former and current foster youth ages 18-25 years that equips youth with the necessary skills and resources to make a successful transition from foster care to independent living.

Available Shifts

  • Mondays from 12:45 pm -3:15 pm
  • Wednesdays from 3:00-5:00 pm
  • 2nd Wednesday of every month from 5:00-7:30 pm
  • Thursdays from 1:45 pm -3:15 pm.

Description

Established in 1978, Casa de Amparo (Home of Protection ) is recognized as a leader in treating and preventing child abuse and neglect in San Diego County and beyond, with locations in Oceanside and San Marcos. The non-profit organization annually serves over 1,000 Casa Kids, from prenatal to 25 years old, as well as over 900 families, through six integrated programs that promote healing, growth, and healthy relationships. These programs include Residential Services , Counseling Services , Family Visitation , Hayward Child Development Center , New Directions , and Young Parent Network . Casa de Amparo is the San Diego Chargers Courage House, part of a national network of NFL teams and local charities dedicated to the prevention of child abuse.
