What is Rent Relief?

Twice a year, Sunday Friends makes it possible for Sunday Friends' families to redeem their hard-earned tickets for housing. Each family must:

  • Save tickets - approximately one months' worth of earnings - in preparation to apply.
  • Fill out an application specifying landlord information.
  • Write two full-page essays on topics that differ each cycle.

All of the above steps must be completed accurately, thoughtfully and turned in on time. Sunday Friends then sends a check to the landlord and provides a check copy as proof to the family.

Sunday Friends needs bilingual (Spanish/English) Volunteers to oversee the acivity mentioned above, here are the dates avaialble:

  • Sunday, November 1st at Santee: 1pm-4pm - 2 Volunteers
