On August 14-16, Street Soccer USA holds a weekend tournament in the heart of Civic Center to promote the mission of improving the lives of the underserved through sports. The SSUSA National Cup in San Francisco brings together homeless adults and underprivileged youth from around the country, along with young professionals competing to fund the delivery of SSUSA's social programs in the San Francisco area.
Our Mission: We use sports to transfer the necessary skills needed to improve health, education, and employment outcomes for the most disadvantaged Americans.
Who We Serve: We make a measurable difference in the lives of under-served urban youth and special-needs populations, as well as homeless adults and families, people in recovery, and others in 16 cities across the United States.

Description
Our curriculum connects soccer skills to life skills, giving players the tools they need to unlock the promise in themselves. By hosting community-based tournaments and showing up each day for practices and games, we create the space for players to cultivate trusting relationships, connect to local social services, and build the skills and confidence to succeed. And because every community is unique, we tailor our approach to fit their own vision of success-whether it’s building a safe, healthy place for community members to call their own, or supporting local organizations so more kids have the chance to play the beautiful game. From after-school programs, to adult training sessions, we provide more opportunities for all players to have fun, work hard, and lift each other up-on and off the field.
