TREE MUSKETEERS was founded in 1987 by a group of 13 Girl Scout Brownies and to this day it is still youth-led. To ecourage environmental youth leadership the LEADership program was formed. LEAD (Leadership Education and Action Development) is a formal volunteer opportunity that provides kids with the opportunity to learn skills that will help them succeed as leaders, both in school and later in life. In the end, the young people will have acquired educational enrichment, self-confidence, team spirit, and the means to make a significant contribution to quality of life and the community.

In our Youth Management Series, youth will learn people skills, personal skills, and management skills that they will be able to use in school and beyond.

This opportunity is for young leaders between 5th and 12th grades. To learn more or register please visit the TREE MUSKETEERS website.

About Tree Musketeers

Location:

305 Richmond St., El Segundo, CA 90245, US

Mission Statement

To empower young people to be leaders of environmental and social change in Earth's communities.

Description

Tree Musketeers was started in 1987 by a group of Brownie Girl Scouts who used paper goods on a camping trip and wanted to give back to the Earth. They planted a tree, and things took off from there! Our mission is to empower young people to become environmental leaders. We offer leadership courses to youth and focus their energy on planting and maintaining trees in the El Segundo area. We also have a world-wide action network called our Partners for the Planet Network that inspires and supports youth environmental leaders around the world.

Most of our events are led by a Youth Manager, with adults as a support system. Tree Musketeers provides the tools and know-how, all the participants need to do is have a positive attitude and wear appropriate clothing. (Closed-toe shoes.)
