What: internship managing limited content and social media updates.

Support the SBPLF coampagin to fund the remodel/relocation of the Children's Library in the Santa Barbara Central Library.

What you get: 1) the opportunity to participate, learn and grow in the first-ever campaign of the SBPLF, 2) learn to establish process and procedures to ensure consistent presentation of content as it relates to raising funds and awareness, 3) a really worthwhile project to help support learning, literacy and reading.

The project's requirements include but are not limited to:

1. Update website with updated images; create an online presence with updates in photo and copy

2. Manage and maintain all Social media with targeted communications

3. Follow direction and understand the scope of the marketing and communications efforts and how they impact the SBPL Foundation website and social media channels

We are expecting to map out a steady stream of image updates and announcements to go out to those following the SBPLF online and through social media.

Location: The Santa Barbara Central Library, 40 E. Anapamu, 93010, Main floor, Foundation office.

Parking: Available in city lots

Skill sets:

1. Strong knowledge of WordPress, MS Suite of software (including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

2. Strong knowledge of Facebook, Twitter and Hootsuite social media applications

3. Purchasing ads and targets on Facebook

4. Photo editing and image cataloging

5. Ability to proof copy and edit appropriately and/or with direction

6. An empathy and understanding of Libraries, reading and literacy

Hours: Approximately 10 hours a week; potentially more during deadlines

Time: Flexible, but initially during Foundation hours (8-5) and available during deadline crunch
