E. I. du Pont Garden (15+ years old) from March to October. Assist in the maintenance of all trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, bulbs and vegetables in the restored garden at the du Pont family residence. Under the direct supervision of the Horticultural Specialist, volunteers plant, weed, water, fertilize, mulch, prune, and clean all areas of the restored garden and its surroundings. The work will take place in a public area, so there will be some contact with museum visitors. Time commitment: flexible within staff working hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.
AND/OR Workers' Garden (18 years old) from March to October. The workers' garden is an integral part of the interpretation of 19th Century life on Workers' Hill. The workers' garden is utilized during our Summer in Industrial America tours, teen program and special events. Volunteers plant and maintain the garden. Time commitment: flexible during daylight hours weekday or weekend.

Hagley Museum and Library collects, preserves, and interprets the unfolding history of American enterprise. Hagley is located on 235 acres by the Brandywine River in Wilmington, Delaware.
Description
Located on 235 acres along the banks of the Brandywine River in Wilmington, Delaware, Hagley is the site of the gunpowder works founded by E. I. du Pont in 1802. This example of early American industry includes restored mills, a workers' community, and the ancestral home and gardens of the du Pont family.
Hagley's library furthers the study of business and technology in America, especially the Middle Atlantic region. The collections include individuals' papers and companies' records ranging from eighteenth-century merchants to modern telecommunications and illustrate the impact of the business system on society.
The Center for the History of Business, Technology, and Society organizes and administers the Hagley Museum and Library's interaction with the world of scholarship. It brings attention to Hagley's research collections and generates intellectual dialogue at Hagley.
