Easter Seals is looking for dedicated individuals that have a passion for helping teach children with disabilities and special needs. Volunteers will be assisting teachers in the classroom and helping with daily activities (from art projects, to meal times and outside play).
Volunteer Responsibilities include:
-Helping students with daily classroom activities
-Assisting teachers with meal and snack preparations
-Setting up and preparing materials for class
-Reading to students
-Assisting with cleaning and organizing the classroom
-Engaging students during outside play time

Flexible Volunteer Shifts:
Monday-Friday
Between 9:00am-5:00pm | 1-4 hour shifts
About the Igoe-Amar Child Development Center:
The Igoe-Amar Child Development Center provides inclusive, high-quality child care and developmental programming for children with disabilities/special needs as well as typically developing children, from birth to five years of age. With a focus on reaching developmental milestones through hands-on learning, services are provided in a natural environment to promote growth and success.
Skills Required:
-Volunteers must be able to show a high level of care for our students and the desire to enrich the children’s creativity in learning.
-Experience working in a child care setting
-Strong communication skills.
-Good organizational skills and proficiency in writing and grammar
-Patience and the ability to work with children with disabilities and other adults.
-Acceptance of people of all races, creeds, nationalities and learning or physical abilities.
-Have a positive attitude and passion to help others.
-Physically capable for outdoor activities and multitasking.
