We’re getting geared up for this year’s July 4 th Tempe Town Lake Festival produced by Kiwanis Club of Tempe, the premier Independence Day event for Valley families. Last year 50,000 plus attendees were at the event, and over $50,000 was raised for local charities. In order for this event to be a hit, we need the help of neighboring organizations to volunteer their time this 4 th of July. The event takes place atTempeBeachPark -80 W. Rio Salado Parkway.

We have many paid volunteer opportunities for local, non profit organizations and incentives to take advantage of. There is one shift this year, working 5 hours from 4:30-9:30 p.m. We will do everything possible to try and make sure you get the position you volunteer for, however an overflow in one area may lead to you getting your second choice or even your third. Every volunteer will receive a commemorative t-shirt, one meal ticket and 2 tickets to the event for family or friends. Volunteer hours will be recorded and donations will be made to the non-profit organization they are representing. Those 18 years old and up will receive $10/hr and mature 13-17 year olds will receive $5/hr. 13-17 year olds must have adult supervision. It’s a great opportunity to help the community and raise money for your organization.

Please contact me at susan@eventsbysya.com by April 29th if there is an interest from your group.

THANK YOU!

About Kiwanis Club of Tempe

Location:

4071 W. Linda Lane, Chandler, AZ 85285, US

Mission Statement

The six permanent Objects of Kiwanis International were approved by Kiwanis club delegates at the 1924 Convention in Denver, Colorado. Through the succeeding decades, they have remained unchanged.

1) To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life.

2) To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.

3) To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business, and professional standards.

4) To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship.

5) To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.

6) To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill.

Description

Kiwanians are volunteers changing the world through service to children and communities. Kiwanis members help shelter the homeless, feed the hungry, mentor the disadvantaged, and care for the sick. They develop youth as leaders, build playgrounds, raise funds for pediatric research, and much more. No problem is too big or too small. Why? Because working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone. When you give a child a chance to learn, experience, dream, and succeed, great things happen!

As Kiwanis clubs and members, we see it everyday!
