The 2015 Indianapolis Monthly Dream Home benefits the Dyslexia Institute of Indiana (DII). The Dream Home is one of DII's largest fundraisers, and without the community support of hundreds of volunteers and businesses, this event would not be possible.
If you love interior design and helping a great cause, the Dream Home Tour Volunteer role is perfect for you. Dream Home volunteers are responsible for knowing basic facts about the home, the area of the home they are working, and DII. This information will be provided in advance and available on-site in each room.
Shifts are Monday-Sunday, May 9-24
Shift A: 11am-3:30pm
Shift B: 3pm-6:30pm

Description
The Dyslexia Institute of Indiana is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization whose mission is to serve children, adolescents, and adults with specific reading/language disabilities. Beginning with the student at the center, DII provides individualized, one-on-one tutoring services that are specific to the needs of each individual. DII values and believes in the importance of providing skills, services, and strategies that enable individuals to attain their full potential.
Incorporated in 1989, DII began its journey with Camp Delafield - a summer program offering intensive one on one instruction and recreation for children ages seven through fourteen. In addition, DII has served thousands of children through: 1) the Wells Outreach Education Program, a one on one community based tutoring program started in 1994; 2) Ready Set READ, a school based program which began in 2005; 3) parent education sessions; and 4) information and referral services. In doing so, DII gives the joy of reading to the reading/language disabled.
