Relay For Life of Cumberland is currently looking for interested individuals and/or groups to help make our upcoming event that fights back against cancer a great success. These volunteers are responsible for assisting with general event set-up, greeting teams, and having fun all at the same time. By being a day of event volunteer, you will not only help the fight against cancer, but you will gain knowledge of how our annual Relay For Life fundraiser May 29-30, 2015 at Lakeside Middle School in Millville, NJ works from behind-the-scenes. Past Relay For Life event experience is not required, but appreciated! Time commitment is dependent upon your availability, but the more the better!

About American Cancer Society - Southwest New Jersey

Location:

1851 Old Cuthbert Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034, US

Mission Statement

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

Description

At Relay For Life events, communities across the globe come together to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much. The funds you raise truly make a difference in the fight against cancer - just ask one of the nearly 14 million cancer survivors who will celebrate another birthday this year!

Relay For Life teams camp out overnight and take turns walking or running around a track or path at a local high school, park, or fairground. Events are up to 24 hours long, and because cancer never sleeps, each team is asked to have at least one participant on the track at all times.
