Potter Park Zoo hosts many private and public events. From Boo at the Zoo and Wonderland of Lights, to Zoo Brew and Wine & Stein, our public events take a large, hard-working volunteer group to ensure guest have an amazing time!

A wide variety of volunteers are needed for these events and many more! From greeters to food service; face painters to storytellers; ticket takers to registration helpers, and more!

Our Gardening and Grounds Volunteers can choose from a variety of tasks including, planting, weeding, watering and mulching; as well as raking and general clean-up.

Our office staff sometimes need help preparing mailings, memberships or other clerical projects. If you can sort and shuffle, we can use you!

All of our volunteers go through a Volunteer Orientation to make sure they feel confident and knowledgeable about our volunteer roles! After that, schedules are incredibly flexible. We understand many of our volunteers have jobs or other commitments, so there is no minimum amount of hours necessary to complete. We just are happy to have you as part of the team!

Interested in joining our wonderful team of volunteers? Visit our website at www.potterparkzoo.org/volunteer or send us an email at PPZVolunteer@ingham.org.

The mission of the Potter Park Zoological Society is to share our knowledge and love of the wild, by striving to teach each visitor to Potter Park Zoo and each participant in Zoo Society programs to take an educated delight in the ways of nature. Our hope is to inspire these individuals, young and old, to commit to the care of our creatures and to the preservation of their habitats and ours.
