Mystery Dog Rescue is looking for responsible individuals or families willing to foster a dog or cat until we can find their forever home. We match up foster homes with available dogs or cats that fit best with the foster family. We want there to be a minimum of disruption in the foster family lifestyle. Fosters must be 21 or older.

We will tell you everything we know about the animal's behavior, so you know what you will be getting. We ask that you treat the animal as a member of your household, and work with them to make sure they adjust to life in a home. We will advise/assist with any training that may be needed to that end.

Your responsibilities: Love and care for the foster dog or cat in your home until they find their new family. You will need to be able to get your foster to and from events to give them the best possible chance of finding a home.

We provide: Everything else! We cover all their medical care, food, and any supplies you need. We promote them online, and hold adoption events almost every weekend at locations around San Antonio.

Length of foster: How long you will have your foster will vary depending on how long it takes to find a new home. On average, forever homes are found between 1 week and 3 months, but we have had a few up to 1 year. Occasionally we need short term foster families to give long term fosters a break. We also need foster homes that can keep an animal 1 month or more while they undergo medical treatment. We will work with you to make sure you don't "burn out", and get breaks when needed.
