Non- Profit Sporting Events Internships
Local Providence office at the American Lung Association is now accepting applications for unpaid fall, winter, spring and summer Sporting and Special Events Internships
Interns will assist in all levels of planning our annual stair climb, walk and bike trek events depending on time of year. Opportunities include recruitment, logistics, marketing and more. Experience in these areas a plus. We are looking for an outgoing personality to join our team. Telephone skills and good interpersonal skills a must. Intern should be flexible and be able to handle multiple tasks or projects. Intern will report directly to the Developemnt Associate. Internship will have a flexible schedule so as not to conflict with individual’s school schedule. Candidates should be available to work a minimum of 8-20 hours per week and available for events that occur during that time period.
Why intern with the American Lung Association?
After an initial screening process, we will tailor an internship to meet your specific needs and availability. This real-life, hands on job experience will boost your resume, increase your self confidence, enhance those skills that you have learned in college, and help prepare you for your first job. There will be opportunities to network with business professionals, doctors, pharmaceutical representatives, teachers, respiratory therapists, board members and donors. Working for a non-profit also adds a dimension that most jobs do not, the benefit of helping others. Set yourself apart from other graduates with an internship that will give you the real world experience that most employers are seeking.

Mission Statement
We are the leading organization working to save lives by improving lung health & preventing lung disease.
Description
The American Lung Association is saving lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. We were founded over 115 years ago by a group of volunteers dedicated to ending the lung health threat at the time: tuberculosis. With TB largely controlled in the United States, we have extended that mission to other respiratory diseases. And thanks to our donors, volunteers, program and event participants, and staff, we are America's trusted source for lung health education, lung disease research, support, programs, services and advocacy.
