Volunteers are needed to help socialize and train assistance dogs on the weekends. Puppies are acquired at 8 weeks of age and their training begins at the Kentucky Correctional Institution for Women with selected inmate handlers. The volunteers pick the puppies up each Friday and return them on Sunday.
Board Members are also needed for the organization. Our meetings are the second Thursday of the month at 6:30.

Paws with Pupose is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities by providing recipients with highly skilled assistance dogs along with continued support throughout the partnership to ensure successful, long term relationships.
Description
Paws with Purpose obtains puppies at 8 weeks of age. They begin their training at the Kentucky Correctional Institution for Women with selected inmate handlers. They are at the Institution M-F and volunteers pick the dogs up for weekend socializaiton. It takes two years to train an assistance dog and on completion of training they are valued at $20,000. Paws with Purpose does not charge recipients for the dog.
