Do you enjoy driving as well as the idea of supporting one of Eugene's leading nonprofit organizations? If yes, ShelterCare has the perfect volunteer opportunity for you. We need a responsible person with a clean driving record and a reliable source of transportation to serve as our Volunteer Driver/Courier. This person will deliver courier envelopes between our various locations, inspect and clean agency vehicles, and drive the vehicles to service appointments. The schedule is flexible except for four predetermined courier appointments each month. We are looking for someone who is willing to make a long-term commitment to this very important position.
The ideal volunteer must have a current driver's license and be able to pass DMV and DHS background checks. In addition, he or she must display the ability to operate a variety of vehicles (sedans, minivans, pickups, box vans, and large passenger vans) with both manual and automatic transmissions.

ShelterCare is a private, nonprofit human services agency directed by a board of community volunteers. Program services are provided in three areas: a range of mental health programs from supported living to intensive residential care; residential training programs for survivors of traumatic brain injury; emergency shelter and transitional support for families with children who are homeless.
