The March of Dimes is a national volunteer health agency whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. Founded in 1938, the March of Dimes funds programs of research, community services, education, and advocacy.
Responsibilities of this volunteer opportunity include:
- Research prospective special event partnership opportunities
- Logistical planning and auction procurement includes, but is not limited to:
- Working with Division and Community Director and planning/ advisory committee
- Ideating new auction/raffle packages and prospecting/contacting new potential donors
- Working with external vendors
- Recruiting and organizing (inclusive of a day-of plan) volunteers to staff event
- Developing collateral materials for events
- Developing a full logistical plan/ timeline for event to ensure all event details are in a master working document
- Work closely with the West Division staff to conduct research and prospect new corporate teams and partners
- Utilize existing prospect lists as well as develop new prospect lists
- Call into organizations to determine the best contact to discuss corporate involvement
- Work with contacts to determine sponsorship opportunities, fundraising and volunteer opportunities
- Be present for special events
Qualifications
- Excellent typing and computer skills, MS Office Suite a plus
- Comfortable making phone calls to community partners and constituents
- Willingness and eagerness to collaborate with other members of Development team to achieve its objectives
Details
- 15-20 hours per week; schedule can be flexible, with potential for some remote work
- Must provide own transportation to our office in Madison, WI.
