Thank you for expressing your interest in volunteering at Freedom Service Dogs. Freedom Service Dogs is a nonprofit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by rescuing dogs and custom training them for individual client needs. Our volunteers play an important role in getting our dogs ready to be placed with their human. We would love to have your help.
Volunteer jobs include: (1) office help, (2) fostering dogs on weekends, (3) help with special events, and (4) kennel assistant/dog enrichment which involves tasks such as taking dogs into the play yards, brushing dogs, cleaning, laundry, washing dishes, and walking a few of our dogs. We have volunteer shifts M-F 9am-3pm and weekends from 8-noon. Weekend needs vary as many dogs go home on the weekends with foster families. I send an e-mail to interested volunteers on Fridays letting volunteers know what dogs will be here during the weekend.
I am happy to discuss volunteering here with you further if you express your interest in this opportunity. If you are ready to start the process, the best way to get involved is to visit our website and fill out a volunteer application.

Once you complete the application, you will get a link for completing a background check. This will cost you $18. Within a few weeks after the background check is complete, you will get an invitation to a volunteer orientation. After you attend the orientation, you can start volunteering. We also offer an optional fostering class that you can take on the same day as the orientation. This would allow you to foster a dog over the weekends.
In August of 2016, we plan to relocate to 7193 S. Dillon Court, Englewood, CO which is near the Centennial Airport.
