ORGANIZATION: Happy Hollow Children's Camp

Help get campers checked in for a week of summer camp. Work with Happy Hollow staff and volunteers to greet campers and their families when they meet in Indianapolis at the English Foundation north parking lot (615 N. Alabama Street, Indianapolis) before campers are transported to Brown County to begin their week of camp. Volunteers will help families organize their paperwork and bags for camp. Report to the back door to enter the building. Check-in will be held inside the building but a few positions will be outside. In addition, we need volunteers who can lift luggage, tables, and water coolers. Lastly, if any volunteer has any medical training, they can help at the medical station. We are looking forward to working with you. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Our Programs:

Summer Camp Program - Our signature City Camp Program is targeted at serving economically disadvantaged children from the Greater Indianapolis area. For children who qualify for the Free or Reduced Lunch Program at their schools, they will receive our $60 rate for a week of camp. Households with higher incomes will pay a rate based on our sliding scale fee. Children will receive three home cooked meals, 24 hour supervision, 8:2 child/counselor ratio, and round trip transportation to and from camp.

Asthma Camp - Happy Hollow has offered a high quality residential Asthma Camp for over 20 years. This session is staffed by over 25 medical volunteers ranging from Doctors, Respiratory Therapists, Nurses, and Pharmacists. The goal of this camp is to educate children with asthma on how to remain active while controlling their medical condition. Happy Hollow is the only residential asthma camp in Indiana.
