This is our biggest event of the year! We need planning committee members for our 2018 Fashion Show!

Qualifications:
Event planning experience
Ability to attend meetings in Edison Park, IL (close to Park Ridge)
Willingness to seek silent auction items and corporate sponsorships.

If you would like to be interviewed to join the team, please complete the online volunteer application and one of our committee members will be in touch! Our meetings will be held at our office in Edison Park, located at 6776 N. Northwest Hwy, Chicago.

The fashion show will be held in Chicago on a Saturday in November. Exact date TBD.

Mission Statement

Compass to Care ensures children, whose parents have a financial, can access life-saving cancer treatment. We carry out this mission by scheduling and paying for cancer-related travel necessities so children can get from their homes to the best medical center for treatment. This includes airfare, bus fare, car rental, gasoline, lodging, parking fees, taxi fees, tolls and train fare.

Description

Having a child with cancer is hard.

Not being able to get to the hospital for treatment is heart-breaking. That's where we step in.

With a focus solely on helping with cancer-related travel needs, Compass to Care's aim is to help families whose children must travel for cancer treatment by:

  • Eliminating some of the monetary burdens resulting from medically-necessary travel costs;
  • Removing the physical and emotional stress that comes with planning a trip and traveling with a child who is ill;
  • Providing peace of mind by removing travel costs so they can focus their energy on their child; and
  • Giving hope that by getting to the right hospital they may save their child’s life from this devastating disease.
