This volunteer will work closely with the Executive Director and Marketing Committee of Capital Arts. This unpaid volunteer position involves copywriting, brainstorming, information-wrangling and strategic planning. This is a great opportunity to learn and develop skills through intensive research of arts marketing opportunities and approaches. This internship will provide a fast-paced window into the world of marketing strategies and long-term stratigic planning.

  • Responsibilities include writing social media posts and blog articles, obtaining approvals and scheduling communications, monitoring social media accounts, and working on special projects and contests. Familiarity with Facebook and Twitter, a strong understanding of grammar, knowledge of visual arts, and the ability to quickly learn new computer programs are required.
  • Graphic Design skills or willingness to learn graphic design is a plus.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office or willingness to learn

The mission of Capital Arts is to promote and provide services in the visual arts, by offering education and art opportunities to the public and by providing a venue for practicing artists.

Description

Capital Arts provides artistic opportunities year round including studio classes for children and adults and the Imagination Station. The Capital Arts Gallery provides a space for artists to exhibit and sell their work. Capital Arts hosts the annual Street Art Fair held in downtown Jefferson City with Jazzfest. Here artists of all ages and experience levels participate in a chalk art competition.

Volunteer opportunities at Capital Arts are not only fun but flexible. If you are only interested in part of a position or have limited availability just let us know! We are happy to work with you. All positions offer an opportunity to learn and grow over time in the areas that interest you.

Capital Arts accommodates students in interested accredited internship programs or capstone opportunities offered at their school.
