Fifth Third Bank is hosting Motor City PraiseFest at Hart Plaza on Sunday, May 3 rd and is hoping to raise 53,000 meals for Gleaners Community Food Bank. The concert is free, but the attendees will be asked to bring canned goods to donate or make a cash donation. The concert is from 1-4pm and will be featuring some wonderful performers - http://www.motorcitypraisefest.com/

We are looking for 20 volunteers per shift to assist with collecting donations at the 2 transit vans at the entrance and volunteers to pair up to walk through the crowds to collect donations. Volunteer shifts - 11am-2pm and 2pm-5pm. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

For more than 40 years, Gleaners Community Food Bank has been "feeding hungry people and nourishing our communities." Last year, Gleaners distributed 42 million pounds of emergency food to 499 partner soup kitchens, shelters and pantries in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, and Monroe counties.


Of every dollar donated, Gleaners uses 97 cents for food and food programs. One dollar provides three meals for a hungry neighbor.
