Mission Statement
OUR MISSION "To enhance the quality of life by enrolling and educating our community in the preservation and protection of natural areas while standing as an example of these same principles and values in North Central Texas".
Description
At 3,621 acres the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge (FWNC&R) is the largest park in the City of Fort Worth's municipal system, and one of the largest city-owned facilities of its kind in the U.S. The FWNC&R is a hidden jewel, a wilderness comprised of forest, prairies, and wetlands reminiscent of how much of the Fort Worth/Dallas metroplex one looked. Over 20 miles of kiking trails provide easy access to a myriad of natural wonders to be found on the Refuge.
