SENSOR is an exciting, multi-media exhibition of works from an international mix of activists, philosophers, software engineers and artists who are responding to issues of technology, information systems, surveillance and access.
We are in the last few weeks of SENSOR which runs until May 9, 2015, but we are still in need of volunteers to Gallery Host!
Volunteering at FotoFest’s exhibitions is always a great way to get involved with Houston’s art community. We are searching for volunteers who would like to help us out by being Gallery Hosts during this exhibition. Having these volunteers helps us to keep our exhibition open to the public. If you have never been a Gallery Host before, it is essentially being on-site to meet and greet guests, answer any questions they may have, and keeping your eye on the photographs and installations. Each volunteer will be trained/instructed by a FotoFest staff member at the start of their shift. There is an information table with a chair where you will be able to sit during the shift.
Gallery Hosts must be at least 18 years old, enthusiastic about the arts and reliable. It is not necessary to have an art or photography background. By volunteering, you will have the opportunity to learn about photography and meet others with similar interests.
The gallery is located at Silver Street Studios, 2000 Edwards Street, Houston, TX 77007
We are looking for volunteers Wednesdays-Saturdays, March 26 - May 9, 2015.
Gallery Hours: 11am-5pm
Volunteer Shifts are split up into two per day: 11am-2pm and 2pm-5pm.
You can sign up for as few or as many shifts as your schedule allows. Here is the link to sign up for Gallery Hosting: http://vols.pt/ZT35Ze
I cannot say enough how grateful the FotoFest staff is for the tremendous support we get from our volunteers. Without volunteers, FotoFest would not be what it is today!
Thank you and hope to see you soon!
