Come join a neighborhood effort to transform a vacant lot into a drought-tolerant native plant habitat for butterflies and hummingbirds. This ongoing project park will connect two canyons in the City Heights Canyon Loop Trail system as well as provide a haven for kids, parents and wildlife.
We have about 1500 square feet of DG to level and tamp as well as mulch to spread, weeds to pull and rocks to pick up.
Wear sturdy shoes and bring gloves if you have some. If not, we have some you can wear. We'll provide water along with all the tools needed.
Please RSVP to Freddy@sdcanyonlands.org so we have enough water, tools and gloves on hand!

About San Diego Canyonlands
Location:
5106 Federal Blvd, #205, SAN DIEGO, CA 92105, US
Mission Statement
San Diego Canyonlands' mission is to promote, protect and restore the natural habitats in San Diego County's canyons and creeks. We do this by fostering education and ongoing community involvement in stewardship and advocacy, and by collaborating with other organizations.
Description
During the monthly events, we would like volunteers to help us remove trash, invasive non-native plants, plant native plants in restoration sites, maintain trails, and do other exciting work to enhance the canyon. Our urban canyons and creeks are critical to the health of the San Diego ecosystems.
