Nashville Adult Literacy Council offers classes for low-level English learners and basic literacy learners throughout Davidson County (Nashville and the Greater Nashville area). It is because of our VOLUNTEERS that we can teach adults to read and succeed.
Whether in a group setting or one-on-one, you can help. No teaching or foreign language experience is necessary. We provide training to prepare you for the right volunteer teaching opportunity for you.
In the One-on-One Tutor program, we match one adult learner to work with one volunteer tutor on reading and writing skills or coversation and English language skills. Learners in classes receive two to four hours of instruction each week.
Be sure to visit our web site at http://nashvilleliteracy.org/one-on-one-tutor-training-schedules/ to access the training schedule, then call us to register.
WE NEED YOU!
