Summer Special Collections and Library Student Volunteer

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Kentucky Historical Society

Special Collections and Library has a summer volunteer opportunity assisting on different types of digital projects in order to help the Special Collections and Library staff provide better access to collections. Are you a high school or college student interested in the use of technology in library and museum work? Do you know how to use a smartphone? Student volunteers will scan photographs from historic collections, create descriptive information (metadata) to help researchers find these images, and put them on the web for easier public access.

Schedules can be worked out between the volunteer and staff. Library hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10am-5pm with extended hours on Thursdays.

Contact Phyllis Gilman if you are interested in this volunteer opportunity. Phyllis.gilman@ky.gov
