The Travelin' Rat helps animal rescues that take in rats through several different ways. The biggest way we help is through fundraising then donating net proceeds to the rescues.
We are pretty small so we file the 990N. We've been doing the best we can with our numbers, using XL files and having asked a few accounting questions so that we do have a financial statement if anyone asks for one. However, we would love to have someone with accounting experience check over what we have done/are doing and make suggestions.
If there is an accountant or someone with accounting experience out there who is willing to help us pro bono by looking over what we've done and helping us improve our files, we'd be grateful!

The Travelin' Rat was founded May 2008. Currently, we are " freelance fundraisers", going to different events where we raise much-needed funds for whichever rescue we can. We are a 501(c)(30 organization, incrporated and registered in the State of Maryland as a charity.
Our mission is to help animal rescues in whatever way we can, especially those that take in pet rats. We generally do this through our fundraising efforts.
