Enhance the quality of life for patients and their families in their own homes or in a facility, such as a nursing home or assisted living facility.

Visit with a patient to provide companionship, relieve loneliness, and share interests. During a visit you will often sit and talk and may play games, cards, or read. As a volunteer you may be visiting a patient who does not have friends or family, or visiting while family is present. There are also opportunities to help caregivers run errands, do light housekeeping or yard work, or to sit with patients to give caregivers a respite (break).

Volunteers receive training and will have ongoing guidance from a volunteer manager.

We will work with your schedule and you can choose to serve in your neighborhood, or anywhere in Louisville and the surrounding counties we serve.

The first step to becoming a volunteer is completing the volunteer application.
Please visit: hosparushealth.org and click on the volunteer tab.
On our website, you'll find more information about being a volunteer, including the requirements.

Once you've submitted a volunteer application, you'll have the option to register for training. We'll confirm attendance with you after you have signed up.
