Tridia Hospice provides compassionate care to patients - and their families - during and after the final stage of their life. Volunteers serve an important purpose by giving their time.

Tridia has an office in the Canton area that could benefit from a volunteer.

Volunteers are needed who are able to spend a minimum of 1 hour per week at our office.

The opportunity below is for an unpaid volunteer position with Tridia Hospice.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age (16 or 17 years of age with parental consent), have their own transportation (and insurance, if appropriate), pass a background investigation (provided by Tridia Hospice), and successfully complete volunteer orientation and training (also provided by Tridia Hospice).

The ideal volunteer candidate will have good interpersonal communication skills and general knowledge for business office administration.

Volunteers must: be respectful of staff and other volunteers they interact with; complete their scheduled appointments or reschedule them promptly; document their time appropriately; follow Tridia’s policies and legal requirements.

Tridia Hospice is required by Federal law to have a volunteer program for our patients. Volunteers may serve our patients indirectly by providing administrative support.

Volunteers provide bereavement support (mailings, telephone) for the chaplains and social workers. Hospice volunteers may earn community service credit for volunteering while others gain valuable experience and contacts in the health care industry.
