Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Project Open Hand

On Thursday, May 7, Taste of the City will kick off at San Francisco City Hall with a dynamic cocktail reception and an exciting silent auction for 400 guests. After the cocktail reception, guests will be transported to 40 incredible and iconic restaurants in San Francisco for intimate, multi-course dinner parties hosted by individual donors or corporate sponsors. The evening ends with a return trip to City Hall for the after party.

As a Taste of the City volunteer, you’ll contribute to the festive atmosphere while helping Project Open Hand raise vital funds to serve meals with love to the critically ill and elderly.

  • Dress for the evening is business casual. Please wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to stand for the duration of your shift.
  • Project Open Hand cannot reimburse volunteers for parking, so we recommend taking public transportation.
  • Please come prepared to work for the entire shift. As a thank you for participating, cocktail party volunteers are invited to join the after party.
  • Dinner will be provided for all volunteers.
  • Volunteer Roles are subject to change

Roles include: Set-Up, Auction Host, Bussers, City Hall Host, Project Open Hand Dinner Service and Clean-Up. There are various start times depending on the role, but jobs last between 2.5 - 5 hr shifts.
