Lutheran Community Services is in need of a photographer to cover it's various fundraising events, clients and volunteers participating at food, housing and community programs to be used in print, digital and social media. Hours vary depending on the time and date of event or hours of operation for the program. We have approximately six fundraising or special events a year and run programs in 15 different locations throughout New Castle County.
This is a great opportunity for the hobbiest/amatuer photographer who wants to expand their skills set and looking to do professional level work for a good cause. Or a professional photographers looking for a new non-profit they wish to champion with their talent!

Mission Statement
"Sharing God''s blessings by helping others in need." is the mission of Lutheran Community Services. Many of those in our community are living in poverty -- 25% of the population of Wilmington and 12% of thepopulation of New Castle County. We believe that each of us is responsible to help our less fortunate neighbors as much as we can. When it was founded in 1959, its original focus was on the independent living needs of seniors. Today, LCS provides a much broader range of emergency services and continues to develop new programs based on the needs of the communities it serves.
Description
HOUSING. LCS provides emergency loans and grants to low income people who are behind in their rent or mortgage or who need money for a security deposit. In 2006, we made 186 loans helping to house over 500 people.
FOOD. LCS provides emergency food assistnace to low income indviduals and families at church-based pantries, free produce distributions, mobile pantries, and grocery clubs.
HEALTH. LCS also provides low income people with free clothes, pharmaceutical assistance to quit smoking, rides to medical appointments and home repair assistance (seniors and disabled only).
