You can make a huge impact in a refugee professional’s life by donating your time and expertise as a mentor. Mentorship is the central component of the Tatweer program. Mentors are a lot like coaches. Your role is to provide information about your industry, suggest alternate career options and assist in expanding your mentee’s professional networks. For refugees the benefits of a mentor relationship are twofold: access to an industry expert and expansion of professional networks.

The needs of each mentee may vary greatly, but a mentor should expect to spend three to five hours a month for a period of six months working with their mentee. Meeting outlines will be provided to help guide you through the process. Monthly meetings will occur at a time and place that mentors and participants agree upon together within King County.
