POSITION SUMMARY:
The Marketing Intern will be responsible for developing an innovative marketing strategy for our local nonprofit organization that will effectively communicate the impact of our program to a broader audience. This innovative marketing strategy will include creation and implementation of a crowdfunding campaign to fundraise for program costs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop our marketing strategy to connect with and motivate a broader audience of supporters
- Create and implement an online crowdfunding campaign
- Perform creative Facebook, Twitter, and other social media updates
- Manage Google AdWords to maximize online presence
- Create marketing materials for upcoming events and assist with publicity as needed
DESIRABLE CHARACTERISTICS:
- Marketing and fundraising experience
- Proficiency with Photoshop and Microsoft Office Suite
- Avid user of social media with an interest in nonprofit outreach
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational skills to manage schedules and project deadlines
- Works well collaboratively and is receptive to new ideas
- Self-starter and can work well independently
- Commitment to achieving project goals
SKILLS TO BE DEVELOPED:
- Enhancement of written communication and marketing skills
- Utilization of practical marketing strategies
- Development and management of project from inception to completion
- Experience in a locally-based international nonprofit organization
