Description:Safe Haven of Tarrant County’s Mentoring Project is designed for male youth in our Transitional Living program to be matched with a male adult in our community. The Mentor must commit to a minimum of 1 year and volunteering/visiting with Mentee at least three hours per month. The Mentor is responsible for coordination of activities and transportation of Mentee. The Mentor must abide by the Mentor Participant Project Application and Waiver Liability and Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement
Time Commitment: One in person visit (3 hours) per month minimum, additional visits at discretion
of mentor and mentee.
Location: Varies, at mutually agreed upon locations between mentor and mentee
Requirements: Training: New Volunteer Orientation, Mentor Orientation, once every other month SHTC staff monitor/ check-up meeting, quarterly meetings with Mentoring Project staff.
Age: Minimum of 21

Description
Domestic violence shelters that provide emergency housing for women and children. Case management, counseling and support groups are available for all clients. Community education and prevention programs are also an important part of the services provided.
