Resource Development Internship
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula is looking for a Resource Development Intern to assist with grant writing, reporting, and planning special events. The position is unpaid and can be used for class credit. We ask for a minimum time commitment of 10 hours per week during the school year, and 20 hours per week during the summer.
Responsibilities:
Research grant opportunities
Write and apply to grant opportunities
Write and send press releases
Grant tracking
Complete reports
Develop and execute stewardship tasks
The intern will also assist our Resource Development team with event planning, submitting donation requests, volunteer recruitment and management, and marketing as needed. In addition to these tasks, the intern will also be able to work with the Resource Development team to create and accomplish their own job duties per the intern’s professional goals and/or school requirements.
Skills: Qualified applicants will possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), initiative and promptness, be able to work independently with minimal supervision, and be comfortable communicating with a broad range of community members.

We serve over 6,000 youth between the ages of 6 and 18 throughout Hampton, Newport News, York County, Gloucester and Mathews County. We have a total of 13 Clubs.
