Connect to your students as a Writing Coach
- Writing Coaches work in small teams of four to six students to jump start the college application process, beginning with the personal statement/essay
- Work collaboratively with other volunteers to provide the best service to students possible
- Empower high school seniors to reach their true potential
Writing Coach qualifications
- Commit to four days and three nights (Thursday - Sunday) on a college campus - all campus lodging and meals are provided
- Experience working with youth as a tutor, mentor, teacher, or other related field a plus
- Good communication and active listening skills
- Experience and/or willingness to work with youth from diverse backgrounds
- Desire to make a difference
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Ability to work in an emotionally intense and rewarding environment

Annually serving 36,000 students in 9 th through 12 th grade, College Summit is the nation’s largest nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of low-income youth by connecting them to college and career. College Summit uses peer leadership, custom curricula, real-time student performance data and technology to help get these high school students from low-income communities to and through college.
