Do you want to help empower individuals to break down employment barriers through mentorships? Then contact TrueNorth Employment Access & Mentoring program, to help provide education and guidance to the under-employed and unemployed within Newaygo County.

We are looking for skilled volunteers to mentor individuals, creating a positive impact on their career path. The purpose for these mentorships is to; teach mentees about professions, establish the needed skills, share resources and/or networks, challenge mentees to establish goals and seek out accomplishing them, give job seekers a safe learning environment, and focus on the participant’s overall development.

The ideal volunteer for this position would have an interest in creating positive impacts, a passion for instructing others, and posses a positive and patient attitude. Mentorships are based on TrueNorth’s employment curriculum; however mentors have control over the mentoring relationship and have the ability to adapt their teaching’s based on expertise and/or needs of the mentee.

Qualifications:
* Volunteer must be 18+
* Able to maintain strict confidentiality standards
* Friendly personality with a willingness to be patient with class participants
* General working knowledge of one or more of the workshop topics and employability

Time Commitment: Varies on mentor relationship and the need of the mentee.
