Habitat for Humanity of Dane County has completed homes with over 230 families in Dane County. The last project to be completed when the home is sold is landscaping. This can include grading, sod, shrub and tree planting, and many other landscaping tasks. Homes completed in the latter half of 2014, as well as those being completed now are in need of landscaping work. We are currently looking for volunteers to help out on this project.
Because we are looking at homes in a variety of areas (North Madison, Sun Prairie, Stoughton, East Madison, etc.) there is a variable schedule and location to this project. Most landscaping projects will be a day or less, but there are ongoing opportunities as we are continually completing new homes that will need to be landscaped.
No skills in construction or landscaping are necessary, and all training and tools will be provided.
If you are an experienced lansdscaper, gardner, or horticulturist, and are interested in leading groups of volunteers in landscaping projects, please let us know!
